About PriceSniff

PriceSniff is a price-research site for consumer electronics. We record product prices from partner retailers on a schedule, keep every observation permanently, and show you the result: real price history you can use to decide whether today's price is actually a good one, or just dressed up to look like one.

Everything on the site is free to browse without an account. An account (sign-in via Google or GitHub, no passwords) adds watchlists and email alerts for price drops and restocks — and nothing else. There is no premium tier and nothing for sale here; the outbound links to retailers are the entire business model.

Where the data comes from

Every price on PriceSniff was observed by us, through the official product APIs of retailers we have an affiliate partnership with, and stored with its timestamp. We only list products sold by those partners — if a product isn't here, that's why. We never edit or backfill price history, and we don't copy retailers' product descriptions, images of their pages, or customer reviews. The how it works page explains the whole pipeline, including exactly how the ratings are computed.

How the site is funded

When you click through to a retailer and buy something, we may earn an affiliate commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions never influence ratings, rankings, or the recorded history — the ratings are a fixed formula, and the charts are the raw observations. The full policy is in our affiliate disclosure.

Who runs it

PriceSniff is an independent project, built and operated by its developer. It is not owned by, affiliated with, or editorially influenced by any retailer or manufacturer.
