There's no best month to buy a graphics card, only a good price. A card's price moves between a normal selling level and a lower floor several times a year. So the useful question is what the card usually costs, and how close today's price is to that floor.

We tracked four 16GB cards on PriceSniff. As of 11 October 2026, none of them is at its tracked low. The two AMD cards are within about $60 of their floors, the MSI is $80 above its low, and the PNY is $200 above.

What to compare

  • VRAM. All four have 16GB, a comfortable amount for 1440p and 4K gaming today.
  • Architecture. The RTX 5070 Ti cards use NVIDIA's Blackwell (GB203) and support DLSS 4. The RX 9070 XT cards use AMD's RDNA 4 (Navi 48) with Infinity Cache.
  • Memory type. The NVIDIA cards use GDDR7 and the AMD cards use GDDR6, both on a 256-bit bus.
  • Factory clocks. Partner cards are overclocked to different degrees, and some headline clocks need the maker's software. Check the default figure.
  • Price floor. The tracked low tells you more about a card's real price than the list price does.

When to buy

  • Watch is the call for all four right now, because none is at its tracked low.
  • The ASUS is closest, at $29 above its floor. A small drop would make it a buy.
  • The GIGABYTE has fallen to $799.28 before, and it's close to the top of its range now, so waiting makes sense.
  • The MSI is at its usual price. The PNY is below its average but still $200 above its low.

GPU prices move a lot, and the same card often sells at several price points. Check a card's tracking history before you buy. PriceSniff shows what it usually sells for.
