How to shop back-to-school tech without getting played
- Check the price history, not the banner. Every item above links to its tracked price chart. If the "back to school price" matches July's everyday price, it's marketing.
- Don't panic-buy in the rush. If school has already started and you can limp along for a few weeks, post-rush clearance frequently beats the August pricing on the same machines.
- Buy capability, not adjectives. "Student laptop" is a marketing category, not a spec. 8GB RAM, SSD storage, and a screen you can live with matter; the sticker on the shelf does not.
